The all-new Subaru Legacy series has been named Medium/Large Car of the Year by
AMI and New Zealand Autocar magazine, making it the third consecutive generation to
receive an Autocar of the Year award. |
The highly-acclaimed Legacy series has won six New Zealand Medium/Large Car of the
Year awards over the past decade, including two overall Car of the Year titles. |
Subaru's flagship executive sedan has also been honoured for its unparalleled safety
record. For the first time, the new Legacy generation has won the prestigious "Triple
Crown" of safety awards: five-star ANCAP, five-star NCAP, and the US Top Safety pick
from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. |
The Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) conducts crash test reports
to give consumers objective information on the level of protection that a vehicle provides
during serious front and side crashes. |
The Legacy's recent string of awards has reinforced Subaru's unmatched reputation as
a thought leader in vehicle safety technology. |
"Safety is one of Subaru's hallmarks, and we are delighted that the Legacy has been
recognised for its safety yet again," said Ms. Hannah Tan, Regional Marketing Manager
for Motor Image Group. "Car buyers, particularly those in the market for a 'family car',
appreciate Subaru’s unmatched record for safety." |
The new Legacy series has also been noted for its economical advancements. Despite
being larger than previous generations of the Legacy, the newest member of the series
produces the lowest emissions. |
Both the Subaru Legacy and Outback have integrated the sophisticated Lineartronic
Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) into the range, offering petrol fuel economy
of just 8.4 litres per 100km. |
The entire Legacy range, which includes the Legacy 2.0i Sedan/Wagon, Legacy 2.5GT
Sedan/Wagon, Outback 2.5i and Outback 3.6R are available for test drives at Motor
Image showrooms island-wide. |
