| Subaru Clinches Two Australian Car Awards for 2009 |
|
| |
Legacy Sedan and Outback top respective categories |
| |
|
Subaru's all-new Legacy series has secured two wins in Australia's Best Car Awards
2009. The brand's trademark executive sedan, the Subaru Legacy 3.6R Premium*1, was
named "Best Prestige Car" for the first time, while the Subaru Outback 2.5i topped the
competition in the "Recreational Four Wheel Drive" category. |
|
|
Australia's Best Cars is the country's most comprehensive, independent and consumeroriented
new car awards program. Every year, Australia's top motoring organisations
put close to 300 cars to the test by conducting a series of rigorous assessments and
analyses to determine Australia's Best Cars. This year, the prestigious title was
awarded to the top car in each of the 12 categories. |
|
|
"The new Legacy series has already received numerous awards for safety and
performance globally, and these latest wins at Australia's Best Car Awards are further
affirmation of Subaru's commitment to excellence. While the Outback has traditionally
performed well in the four-wheel drive category, the Legacy Sedan is truly breaking new
ground with its "Best Prestige Car" win," said Ms. Hannah Tan, Regional Marketing
Manager for Motor Image Group. "Subaru is synonymous with great driving experiences,
whether on the road, or off the beaten path, and we are excited to see that recognised." |
|
|
The Legacy Sedan received full scores in the pricing, safety and security categories,
which were ranked of higher importance than other deciding factors. The Legacy
Outback also received a perfect ten score in the safety and security categories as well,
in addition to scoring above average in other critical categories. |
|
|
The entire Legacy range, which includes the Legacy 2.0i Sedan/Wagon, Legacy 2.5GT
Sedan/Wagon, Outback 2.5i and Outback 3.6R are available for test-drives at Motor
Image showrooms island-wide. |
